The QFi Difference

Our philosophy is finance should be a strategic engine for growth, not a back-office necessity. We deliver this through a unique blend of deep, cross-industry expertise and an innovative, technology-enabled methodology. We don't just solve accounting problems; we architect the financial intelligence systems that drive enterprise value.

Trial Balance-Driven Architecture

We extract data directly from core system ledgers, bypassing manual spreadsheet roll-ups. By standardizing the trial balance, we compress month-end close cycles from 20 days to 5-8 business days while enabling multi-dimensional profitability analysis.

Day-100 Integration Velocity

We deploy specialized squads (CPAs, data engineers, and program managers) to integrate fragmented ERPs and GLs. We secure reporting continuity within 30 days of acquisition close, preventing post-close operational drag.

EBITDA & Enterprise Value Focus

We speak the language of sponsors. Our engagements are laser-focused on the operational metrics that protect the exit multiple: identifying COGS leakage, reclaiming freight overcharges, and preparing data rooms for Quality of Earnings (QofE) audits.

Technology-Enabled Acceleration

Instead of buying overpriced, bloated corporate performance management software, we deploy lightweight, automated data pipelines using standard SQL, BigQuery, and pre-built ERP connectors to build a permanent reporting infrastructure.

Our Leadership & Execution Team

Our multidisciplinary squads integrate seasoned **Program Management Professionals**, expert **Financial Reporting CPAs & Accountants**, and elite **Data & Software Engineers** to execute value-creation plans at the speed of software.

D'Ontae Thibodeaux

D'Ontae Thibodeaux

Managing Partner

D'Ontae has led finance transformation engagements that have directly contributed to over $2B in successful private equity exits. He served as interim Office of the CFO for a $2B Bain Capital portfolio company, integrating three acquisitions with zero reporting downtime. For a Comvest Partners manufacturing platform, he identified $1.2M in misallocated COGS buried in an ERP configuration error and restructured the company's revenue recognition under ASC 606 — work that positioned the business for a clean Quality of Earnings and a $1B exit at 5x MOIC. At a New Mountain Capital healthcare platform spanning 120+ locations, he redesigned the revenue model under ASC 606 and delivered 150 basis points of EBITDA improvement during a period of acute cash pressure. D'Ontae began his career in PwC's M&A Advisory practice before moving to Intel, where he worked in Revenue accounting. He then joined Google in Controllership, overseeing the financial operations for Technical Infrastructure — including supply chain accounting and data center manufacturing. After founding QFi and delivering results across multiple PE-sponsored transformations, Google recruited him back on sabbatical to lead the Margin Expansion team within the Finance Optimization Office, where he leveraged advanced analytics to help grow Google Cloud's operating margins from 17% to approximately 32% over six quarters. He is a Certified Public Accountant (California, inactive).

Craig Brooks

Craig Brooks

Managing Director

Craig program-manages the quarterly financial reporting process at Kraft Heinz that culminates in the company's public earnings call — owning the preparation and delivery of the executive deck presented to investors and analysts for a $40B+ global CPG company. He is deeply embedded in the planning and budgeting process across Kraft Heinz's market teams, giving him a rare command of how large-scale financial operations translate into investor-grade reporting. Previously, he held operational leadership roles at Anheuser-Busch, where he honed the program management discipline that defines his approach to client delivery. At QFi, Craig has served as Head of Client Delivery across every major engagement — including the $2B Bain Capital manufacturing integration, the Comvest Partners COGS remediation that supported a $1B exit, and the New Mountain Capital healthcare revenue redesign spanning 120+ locations. He brings the rigor of Fortune 100 financial operations to every PE-sponsored transformation QFi executes.

Jason Smith

Director of Go-to-Market

As a core leader in QFi's transaction and engagement scoping, Jason acts as the client advocate, ensuring that every operational deliverable is aligned directly with the sponsor's most pressing EBITDA and exit vectors. He brings a deep, hands-on background in scaling high-velocity sales organizations, structuring incentives, and accelerating close cycles. His expertise in volume-driven sales execution was honed during a successful tenure at CarMax, where he led sales training programs and built regional sales teams for a national leader in standardized, high-scale GTM operations.

He negotiated and executed the $10M exit for Prekindle after untangling a complex partner buyout, managed the high-value exit of R. Greenleaf (a premier vertically integrated operator), and served as CEO leading the operational turnaround of Marble Brewery, New Mexico's flagship craft brewery. At QFi, Tim directs the Deal Desk and commercial structuring, ensuring that all engagements are priced to maintain margin floors while crafting the flexible, weekly fee-for-service SOW structures that private equity sponsors require to protect their portfolio investments.

Edwin Smith Jr.

Edwin Smith Jr.

Director of Data Strategy & Business Intelligence

Edwin architects the data engineering foundations and rapid business intelligence prototypes that power QFi's automated finance transformation workstreams. He served as a core data architect on the Zep Inc. engagement, prototyping the automated BigQuery data pipelines that eliminated manual spreadsheet dependencies, and the Benevis (New Mountain Capital) project, where he designed the data pipelines for real-time cash and driver-based revenue models across 120+ clinical locations. Within QFi's squad model, Edwin bridges the gap between client business logic and software engineering, building working data models to establish the precise specifications required for production-grade system deployments. Previously, he built enterprise data warehouse solutions for Southwest Airlines and Ryder System, managing high-volume data structures across transportation and logistics networks.

Abhijeet Garje

Abhijeet Garje
